Polden Medical Practice is a busy medical practice based at Edington and Woolavington in the Polden Hills near Bridgwater. We serve over

9,000 patients and currently have a vacancy for a part time receptionist to join our friendly and dedicated Reception team.

The role of our Medical Receptionists is to work at both surgeries within a large, busy team of receptionists to ensure an efficient and effective working environment and to guarantee that patients receive a high quality service. The Reception Team are the first point of contact for many patients accessing the services at the Practice and are required to be approachable, empathetic, professional and knowledgeable in assisting our patients.

Essential Skills

Previous medical/NHS experience

EMIS working knowledge

Excellent communication skills and customer service skills

Great work ethic

Problem solver

IT competency

Ability to handle difficult situations with the public

Ability to work well alone and as part of team

Desirable Skills

Local Knowledge

The Practice opens between the hours of 8.00am to 6.30 pm with the possibility of ad-hoc overtime to cover holiday and Saturday morning cover on a rota basis. Pay is dependent upon experience.
